Movie Review: The Parent Trap

"The Parent Trap"
.
The Parent Trap. This amazing movie directed by Nancy Meyers was released in 1998, and it is a story about these two girls, who discovered in the Walden Camp that they were twins, separated by their parents the year they divorced, in 1997. The story goes on and on when the girls, called Anne and Hallie, agreed on carrying on this kind of plan, which consists in that Hallie finally meets her mother and Anne, her father, but changing their personalities to become one in another

Everything seems perfect when each girl gathers either with their mother or father until Anne finds out- in Hallie’s shoes- that Nicholas Parker, her father, was going to marry a twenty-six year-old woman called Meredith Blake. This allows the girls’ plan to start to fall, as one of the objectives of it was to reunite their parents. Nevertheless, they found a back-up plan, where they arrange to join Elizabeth James, their mother, with Nicholas in a hotel in San Francisco, where the wedding was going to be held. Finally, Elizabeth and Nicholas get together again, renewing their wedding vows and living together in London as a family.

The main characters, Anne and Hallie, were taken to life by Lindsay Lohan, who performed both the twins. According to this information given, the special effects were fundamental for the people involved in the play, as they have to make that these two girls, who in reality are only one actress, playing both roles, to meet and speak each other.

As a conclusion, is very well organized, either by the actors, the places they used- because it takes place in two different countries, United States and Great Britain. Also, it involves the spectator into the girls’ lives, trying to communicate what the girls felt growing up either with their father or their mother. This is shown in the girls’ desire of meeting them. In addition, the rest of the actors taking part of the movie are very well skilled, trying to express the situation of their dialogue.
